Twenty-five years ago, a small team of engineers set out to solve a problem most companies had not yet noticed. Business information was moving onto networks, removable drives and email, and much of it was leaving organizations without anyone knowing. On October 16, Zecurion marked its 25th anniversary. Over that time, its work on that problem has grown into a family of data-centric and people-centric security solutions used by organizations around the world.
The story began in 2001 with a simple belief: protecting information means understanding both the data itself and the people who handle it every day. Zecurion was among the first companies to build dedicated technology for preventing data leaks. In those early years, the challenge was to see what was happening at all, meaning what was being copied, sent or printed, and by whom. As the company’s engineers learned from each new deployment, the product kept growing more capable. Year after year, what started as a tool for monitoring data channels became a full platform for controlling how information moves through an organization.
That platform is Zecurion Next Generation DLP. It covers the channels employees use every day and uses automated classification to recognize sensitive content. AI-powered analysis helps security teams separate real risks from routine work. Just as important, it shows the human side of security. User behavior analytics and risk-based assessment show how people work with information, so companies can support their employees and address risks early rather than react after the fact.
Along the way, Zecurion found that it was not enough to watch data in motion. Organizations also needed to know what information they held, where it was stored, who could reach it and what happened to it over time. That insight led to Zecurion Data-Centric Audit and Protection. It audits, controls and protects data at every stage of the file lifecycle, from the moment a document is created to the moment it is archived or deleted. Together with data security posture management, it gives companies a clear picture of their information and the means to keep it safe.
Customers have shaped this path from the very beginning. Many of Zecurion’s best ideas started as conversations with security teams in banks, government agencies, telecom operators and industrial companies. Those teams were willing to describe their real problems and test new approaches. Their feedback has influenced nearly every release, and their trust remains the company’s most valued achievement.
As Zecurion grew beyond its first markets, partners became an equally important part of the story. In Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa, Turkey, South Africa and India, local partners did more than resell the technology. They adapted it to local regulations, implemented it, supported customers in their own languages, and built long-term relationships on behalf of the company. Much of Zecurion’s international growth over the past years is the result of that work.
Behind all of this stands the Zecurion team. For a quarter of a century, its developers, analysts, engineers and support specialists have shown the persistence and curiosity needed to turn ideas into working protection.
“Looking back, what I am most grateful for is the people who walked this road with us. Our customers, who trusted us with what matters most to their business. Our partners, who carried our technology to new countries. And our team, who never stopped asking how we could do better. Twenty-five years is a milestone, but it feels much more like a beginning.”
said Alexey Raevsky, CEO at Zecurion.
Zecurion enters its next quarter century with the same goal it started with: to protect organizations’ information and the people who work with it.
