Zecurion has developed protection against photographing computer screens
Zecurion has announced the release of Camera Detector, a unique protection module against taking pictures of computer and laptop screens. Thus, Zecurion DLP is today the first DLP solution to control such an information leakage channel.
Zecurion Camera Detector detects photographing corporate computer screens on a smartphone through the use of machine learning technologies based on neural networks. If suspicious user actions are detected, Zecurion DLP allows you to timely notify the information security service of a potential threat and reduce the risks of data leaks, and the fact itself is recorded in the DLP archive.
The module detects smartphones, regardless of the color of the case and model, and also suppresses noise and ignores unnecessary objects in the background to more accurately identify devices and reduce the number of false positives. It is important that the module works regardless of whether the camera is used by other applications or not. That is, the DLP system can control the screen capture, even if the employee at this time communicates via Skype or participates in a video conference.
“The problem of information leakage through the shooting of PC screens with the help of gadgets has always been given special attention of customers, but before that there was no technical solution that allowed to close this“ hole ”. Many organizations have tried to reduce the risks of prohibitive measures and administrative restrictions on the use of gadgets until they are seized from employees at the entrance to the office,”said Alexander Kovalev, Zecurion Deputy General Director. “With the Zecurion Camera Detector, we offer a flexible and effective tool that allows you to control this leak channel, comply with legal requirements and remove administrative restrictions on employees.”
In the future, the company plans to expand the capabilities of the module and types of recognized objects. It will also be possible to configure various system reactions when an incident is detected - blanking the screen or blocking the violator's account until the situation is clarified.
